European Air

European Air or European Aviation Air Charter is an United Kingdom based airlines. It operates from its main hub at Bournemouth. This airline also runs charter services, VIP flights, and also inclusive-tour and sub-charter flights. This airline major also operates ACMI wet leases for other airlines. European Aviation Air Charter Limited is party to the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Type A Operating License, hence it is permitted to carry passengers, cargo or mail on aircraft with a minimum of 20 or more seats.

European Aviation Air Charter came into being in 1989. It was originally known as the European Aviation. Paul Stoddart headed the European Aviation Air Charter and introduced it in order to fill the gap in the market of an ad-hoc charter airline. BAC-111 jets of the 1960-built was originally used by this airlines. European Air Charter has, since the beginning, always used the Bournemouth-Hum International Airport, creating the airport an important hub for the airline. The airline started reaping profits and so the company expanded its operation into the areas of flight crew training, maintenance for other airlines, leasing and selling of aircrafts. In 1993, the name of the European Aviation company was changed to European Aviation Air Charter, or EAC. Since the company was in an expansion mode twenty other BAC-111s were bought from British Airways in 1993.The airline could thus include tour groups among its clients. It also started operating the better equipped Airbus A300 and Boeing 737s as well as Boeing 727. Black and silver are the colors used to design the livery of the airlines. Later red and white colors were included into the color scheme of the livery.

As of March 2007, the airlines has grown to house a total of 270 employees. As of now the European Aviation Air Charter fleet consists of the following types of aircrafts:
  • 4 Boeing 737-200
  • B737-229 - G-CEAE
